Philipians 3:13-14
- Last year is past; the New year is Here
- It’s time to take inventory, to prepare for the future.
- It’s time to set goals for the New Year
- Consider Paul’s position and proposal
- We have great lessons from a great Christian
- We learn from a man who influenced millions
- Paul’s focus was this: his regrets, the race, the rewards
- What should we do about regrets? (v.13)
- Forgetting those things which are behind
- We all have regrets, but we`ve all made mistakes
- We`d like a replay of last year to make adjustments
- There are no regrets; the past is past
- How shall we deal with last year`s blunder?
- Confess our sins and be forgiven (1 John 1:9)
- Leave all past failures with the Lord
- Like Paul, forget those things that are behind
- How do we run life`s race? (vv. 13-14)
- “Reading forth unto those things which are before”
- Paul approached the future with anticipation and faith
- He was eager to see what he could achieve for Christ
- Here are the facts we must face:
- We are all either problem conscious or power conscious
- We approach everyday expecting either the best or the worst
- The Christian life begins with faith (Rom. 5:1)
- “the just shall live by faith” (Rom. 1:17)
- Faith and fear are opposites
- Faith wins and fear loses
