GOD calls people that he has created

  • He called Adam & Eve after the fall in the Garden of Eden.
  • He called Noah in a violent age
  • He is still calling people today.
  • He calls people for the following
  • To salvation [Matt 11:28-30]
  • To Service [Roman 1:1]

GOD CALLS THE FOOLISH [v.27]

  • He called foolish Zacchaeus who had lived only for what he could accumulate. His main goal in life was to become wealthy He had cheated others to get ahead when his time came he was called from a sycamore tree to be saved. Remember, Zacchaeus was short and we’ve all fallen short.
  •  GOD called foolish Jonah who tried to run away from him many are still trying to run away from GOD. Many are still trying to run away from GOD. How foolish to think we can escape GOD’s call. He called the foolish to wisdom and eternal life

GOD CALLS THE WEAK [v.27]

  • He called the prodigal son. This young man was so weak, he was out of control. He was so weak that he squandered his inheritance.
  • He was so weak, he gave into bad company.
  • GOD has called the weak people like Moses to do mighty things
  • Mel Trutter was a drunkard but then mighty for GOD
  • Oral Robert, who was about to die of tuberculosis, was healed by GOD and GOD gave him power of healing as he healed many sick people.

WHY DOES GOD USE NOBODIES?

  • It shows his power to change lives
  • Then people will see the miracle and turn to Christ

GOD CALLS THE BASE AND THE DESPISED [v.28]

  • He called the woman at the well to reach her town.
    • The woman has been married 5 times and was now living with one of her husbands.
    • Chief gave her his water and quenched her spiritual thirst.
  • She brought others to find the saviour.
    • He called leper to the amazement of the Pharisees.
    • He is still calling outcasts to salvation because of his love.

CONCLUSION

1. Have you ever thought that you were out of reach of GOD’s love?
2. Have you ever thought your sins were too serious to be forgiven?
3. God is calling you to salvation and service.
4. Brethren, will you respond to the loving GOD?
